Accessibility Statement

Contractor Pathway is committed to making our website and online courses accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We aim to meet or exceed Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA where reasonably practicable.

What We’ve Done

  • Semantic markup — proper heading hierarchy (H1 → H2 → H3), landmarks (header, nav, main, footer), and ARIA roles where they help.
  • Image alt text — every meaningful image has descriptive alt text. Decorative images use empty alt to hide from screen readers.
  • Keyboard navigation — all functionality is operable from a keyboard alone. Tab order is logical; focus is visible.
  • Color contrast — body text meets at minimum 4.5:1 contrast against background. Brand-colored buttons meet 3:1 minimum.
  • Resizable text — content remains usable when zoomed to 200% without horizontal scrolling.
  • Form labels — every form input has an associated label.
  • PDF study guides — generated with text layers (not image-only) so screen readers can read the content.
  • Quiz feedback — answer feedback is announced via ARIA live regions when answer is selected.

Known Limitations

  • Some legacy blog posts (pre-2025) may have unlabeled images. We are progressively improving these.
  • The LearnDash quiz interface, sourced from a third-party plugin, is mostly accessible but does not yet meet 100% AA conformance. We are working with the plugin author on remaining gaps.
  • PDF study guides are accessible but not yet fully tagged for AAA-level screen-reader navigation. We plan to add full PDF tagging in late 2026.
  • Video content (when added) currently lacks closed captions. We will add captions for all course videos before they go live.

How to Request an Accessible Format or Report a Problem

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our site, or if you would like a course material in an alternative format (large-print PDF, plain-text, etc.), please contact us:

Email: contact@contractorpathway.com
Subject line: “Accessibility — [your request]”

We aim to acknowledge accessibility requests within 1 business day and resolve them within 5 business days. If a fix will take longer, we will explain why and provide an interim alternative when possible.

Standards We Follow

  • WCAG 2.1 Level AA — primary target.
  • Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act — applicable for any U.S. federal contracts.
  • ADA Title III — California has been particularly active in ADA web-accessibility litigation; we take this seriously.
  • EN 301 549 — for users in the EU.

Browser & Assistive Technology Compatibility

The site is tested against:

  • Latest 2 versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge
  • iOS Safari + Android Chrome on current and previous major OS versions
  • NVDA + JAWS on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS / iOS; TalkBack on Android

Continuous Improvement

Accessibility is not a one-time check — codes, content, and customer needs change. We perform automated accessibility scans on every release and a manual audit twice a year. If you experience a barrier, please tell us — your feedback drives our priority list.
