A C-32 Parking and Highway Improvement license authorizes applying protective coatings, vehicle stops, guard rails, and striping to the existing paved surface of parking facilities, airports, and roadways, under 16 CCR §832.32. Read the complete C-32 exam guide for requirements and exam structure.
C-32’s own regulation explicitly states the classification “does not include the re-paving of these surfaces” — that single line is the boundary with C-12 Earthwork and C-8 Concrete, which handle new pavement, excavation, grading, and full resurfacing. C-32 is limited to applying coatings, markings, and hardware to an existing paved surface, and it also overlaps C-31 Traffic Control on active roadway projects.
