A C-35 Lathing and Plastering license authorizes applying wet-mixed coatings — stucco, gypsum plaster, or lime plaster — to interior and exterior surfaces, plus installing the lath and framing those coatings adhere to, under 16 CCR §832.35. Read the complete C-35 exam guide for requirements and exam structure.
C-35’s boundary with C-8 Concrete is spelled out in the C-8 regulation itself (16 CCR §832.08), which explicitly excludes contractors whose sole business is applying plaster or stucco — a concrete contractor builds the wall, a C-35 plasterer coats it. EIFS/synthetic-stucco systems from manufacturers like Dryvit and Parex often require their own separate installer certification on top of the state license.
