The C-46 trade exam runs roughly 100-115 multiple-choice questions and tests system-grounding rules and rapid-shutdown requirements at both the array boundary and the building entry point — safety topics specific to solar that don’t appear on the C-10 Electrical exam. NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) offers a widely respected voluntary PV installer certification separate from the CSLB license itself.
