A C-47 General Manufactured Housing license authorizes installing, altering, repairing, and preparing manufactured and mobile homes for moving, including their foundations and accessory structures, under 16 CCR §832.47 — the regulation explicitly excludes recreational vehicles. Read the complete C-47 exam guide for requirements and exam structure.
C-47’s regulation draws a second hard line beyond the RV exclusion: factory-built homes are certified to the Uniform Building Code/International Residential Code, not the federal HUD Code that governs true manufactured homes — a different regulatory system entirely, so installing a modular home built to UBC standards falls outside C-47’s legal definition (16 CCR §832.47 excludes it by name).
