Texas: how to get licensed

Texas contractors are licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) and Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Texas does not issue a statewide general building contractor license. It does license specific trades through the agencies named above. Confirm which board covers the work you want to bid, then sit the exam that board publishes.
